In the spring of 2020, as the world slowed to a crawl and we were politely asked to stay home, concert halls and clubs
shuttered their doors. Live music took to virtual screens to reach its audience. During this time, Laurent took advantage of this mandatory pause to return to the core of his craft— intensifying his practice and writing music. This quickly evolved into a repertoire of entirely original soul-jazz, born from the natural desire to eventually gather these pieces into an album.
 

As soon as it became possible once more to bring four musicians and their instruments into the same room, Laurent called upon his partners of choice to breathe life into this music born in isolation. While the music still carries a few melancholic undertones, it primarily expresses the joy of reunion and the simple pleasure of playing together.
