Maël Idris Mercier Quartet
Maël Idris (born in 2004 in Belgium) is a jazz pianist who grew up on the road with his father, a musician. After studying classical music, he dedicated himself to jazz in his teenage years, studying at the Kunsthumaniora in Brussels and then at the Royal Conservatory. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree at 18 and is pursuing his Master's at the JazzCampus in Basel.

His talent is recognised by the Dinant Jazz Contest 2023 and the DownBeat Award 2024. Noticed at a very young age by Wynton Marsalis, he is notably mentored by Nduduzo Makhathini and has received advice from many great names in jazz (Larry Grenadier, Aaron Parks, Kenny Werner, etc.).
