The guest of honour at the 2026 Festival: Till Brönner
Till Brönner is a highly respected German jazz trumpeter, born on 6 May 1971 in Viersen. His versatility extends to singing, production, arranging, and composition. Although he grew up in Rome, he honed his musical education in Germany, studying classical trumpet and then jazz at the Cologne Academy of Music. His first album, "Generations of Jazz," was released in 1993, marking the beginning of a prolific career.

Brönner's style is an elegant blend of bebop and jazz fusion, that he often enriches with pop influences, film music, and even German songs.

His sophisticated and melancholic style has sometimes earned him comparisons to the legendary Chet Baker, earning him the nickname the "German Chet Baker".

His career is marked by prestigious collaborations with a multitude of international artists, including Ray Brown, Dave Brubeck, Natalie Cole, Chaka Khan, Tony Bennett, Annie Lennox, Melody Gardot, and Carla Bruni. Among his most acclaimed albums are "Midnight" (1997), "That Summer" (2004), which was the best-selling jazz album in Germany, "Oceana" (2006), and "Rio" (2008).

Till Brönner is unique in the German music scene for being the only artist to have won an Echo Award, the highest musical distinction in Germany, in all three categories: jazz, pop, and classical, in addition to his five Echo Jazz awards.

Beyond the music scene, Brönner is also a renowned photographer, having published the illustrated book Faces of Talent in 2014. He has also shared his knowledge as a jazz trumpet teacher at the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music in Dresden and reached a wider audience as a judge on the casting show "X Factor" in Germany from 2010 to 2011.
